When you see the sun rise over Athos, the Holy Mountain, you can only think there is really something divine about this world. This photo was taken from the middle "leg" of the peninsula of Chalkidiki, on the road over Sarti, a small seaside village situated on the east coast of the leg. The view to Athos was majestic just as I could see the silouet of the Holy Mountain emerge in the white light of the sun rising behind it. It is said, any Orthodox should visit this majestic place with its 20 monasteries at least once in a lifetime.
